Phu Bai International Airport
Phu Bai International Airport is situated just south of the central city of Hue. If you are interested in wars, Phu Bai Airport is a must-see.
During the Vietnam War, an American garrison was assigned there and built up the airport with a paved airstrip, concrete bunkers and a few other luxuries.
Nowadays, they have been retrofitted for the use of Vietnamese. Phu Bai Airport officially welcomed its first international flight since 2002. The charter flight operated by Austrian Airlines carried Austrian tourists from Luang Prabang, Laos.
